In 2002, we lost our daughter in a car accident at the age of 17, and our grief to this day is still raw. We honored her with scholarships given to her high school; the school honored her with a memorial garden on the high school grounds; and her very close friends to this day stay in touch with us. We believe this is their way of keeping Sara in their lives as well.
Fast forward to 2018, when I first became aware of the art of infusing glass jewelry with the cremated remains of a loved one. 16 years! Why did it take me 16 years to find out about this?
So, I bought a couple of pendants for my wife, a touchstone for me to keep in my pocket and one for my wife to keep in her purse. I can’t tell you how much comfort these beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry mean to us. While we don’t need any help remembering our beautiful Sara, having her with us in this physical way gives us a special sense of connection with her.
Thinking of all those years when we could have had her with us like this lead me to wonder how many other families there are like mine, not knowing about this thoughtful way of honoring a life well lived. Lots, as it turns out.
And so, MemoryAsh.com was born. Our mission is to help families who lost a loved one and are considering cremation become aware of this meaningful & personal way of honoring their loved ones, be it mother, father, grandparents, siblings, child, and even a beloved pet. There’s no reason why you should need to wait 16 years to find out about or act on this unique personalized art.
We believe that all decisions involving what to do with cremated remains is entirely up to the family, but we view our offerings as a way of bringing this opportunity for comfort & connection to you.
The very talented artists who work with MemoryAsh are true craftsmen; the best in their field. They take great care with the ashes to create beautiful, meaningful jewelry you’ll cherish forever. We hope we can be part of your memorial jewelry journey.
